11 Nov 2019: Veterans day and articles

First, Happy Veterans Day to all of my fellow veterans.

Articles of interest are below. I am going to be organizing the data I have been collecting regarding the BIlls in congress and which politician(s) have been only pushing Bills to let them die off or just to take credit to help them get re-elected. Yup, you heard it here…. unethical and immoral politicians. I know, surprise should be the first reaction you have… or not. Anyway, I hope your day is going great and here are the articles:

5 Nov 2019:

-Mother Jones: “Elizabeth Warren wants to cut veteran suicides in half

My two cents: If someone had a solution to reduce/elimate veteran suicide or suicide in general, why would it take getting them elected as President for them to implement that solution? Think about that one, then wait for my article on exactly how hands-off Elizabeth ‘the liar’ Warren has avoided many important veteran bills, then all of a sudden jumped on a plethora of bills as cosponsor (apparently her consultant told her “you should probably at least look like you care about veterans and get on some bills, otherwise you may not win their votes”).

8 Nov 2019:

-Mental Floss: “Veterans can now access their health records through Apple’s Health App

Two cents: By the way, to my fellow veterans, the Department of Veterans’ Affairs gave Apple unlimited access to your personal and private medical information. That’s right, they gave your information to Apple using the ‘App’ as an excuse. Why would I think it was an excuse when Apple now says there is a ‘MyHealthyVet’ application for veterans to access their VA information (medical)? Because we have always had that ability, we do not and never needed a special stand-alone application to access anything within the VA. So why now? Stew on that question for a bit, then ask why you are not more upset that the VA dishes out your personal info at the drop of a dime?

-The Washington Post: “How Veterans Affairs denies care to many of the people it’s supposed to serve

10 Nov 2019:

-Stock Daily Dish: “VA considering merging health care with Pentagon

Two Cents: Read this article and ask yourself this question: If VA care is so good, why is it that politicians do not use it? Why is it that politicians do not pay into insurance for health care? Why do they get it for free for the rest of their lives?

-Fox News: “Dr. Mike Haynie: Why the epidemic of veteran suicide? And where is the outrage?

-The Gazette: “Veteran suicide is a growing but under-researched issue

11 Nov 2019:

-The Spokesman-Review: “Veterans concerned about benefits hesitant to use, discuss cannabis

Articles are being written using numbers that are ‘less than truthful’ to start making that subject disappear off of your radar. The veteran suicide articles are stating 17 veteran suicides per day, as if to make you think that someone is doing great things to reduce veteran suicides, but that is not the case. Actually, the whole “less than 20 veterans per day” boasting from the VA is garbage. Complete and utter garbage.

If you do some research, which I may actually have to do so that I can become more vocal on the lack of journalistic integrity that exists in our world today, you will find amazing facts that exists about the veteran community. Information such as: why veterans have been committing suicide, what those veterans experienced in their VA, what the VA had done to place veterans in further hazardous situations that led to veterans dying off, etc. Many sad and angering issues…but as long as the headlines show less and less suicides, society believes that someone did something it looks like no one should worry about it any longer….. unreal but true.

Happy veterans day all, may your day be filled with happiness and memories to last you a lifetime…because many veterans will suffer further and society will continue blindly following and supporting the headlines.
